IAW Federal law all class 2 ebikes limit the max speed by throttle to 20 mph. However, you can exceed that by using pedal power.

Federal law restricts all class 2 ebikes/etrikes to 20 mph utilizing motor power only, but does not restict higher speeds if achieved by pedaling. It should be noted state and local regulations could override Federal. Check your local laws.

The 340T password protects access to the display which would slow potential thieves down however, it won't stop anybody from just pedaling away. Bike locks are available from many retailers.

Can the 340 tea be turned into a two person trike?
Answer:
Sorry for that, Grandtan M-340T can only be ridden by one person. If you would like to have an etrike for 2 adults, we strongly recommand Soletri M-366X and Herotri M-365X. Please have a look on it, it will meet your needs. Hope this helps.
