How to Care for Your E-bike's Battery?
Tip #1: Don’t ignore your battery for too long!
Your e-bike battery needs your love – even when you’re not using it. To maintain your battery’s full energy life, make sure to charge it at least once a month. Leaving your battery pack idle for too long will result in battery capacity decline and insufficient charging.
Tip #2: Be mindful of your charging time
Most people would want to keep their fully charged at all times. However, if you would like to maintain your battery pack, keeping it fully charged will end up leading to range loss. In fact, if the battery is continuously fully charged, the range loss will become more and more obvious.
Remember: battery life can vary between bike models, be sure to refer to your specific battery back instructions for more details on charging times.
Tip #3: Use your pedals!
In order to prolong the battery life of your electric bicycle, use your pedals when riding on steep slopes or against the wind. This will help avoid large battery consumption.
Tip #4: Use the charger that comes with your battery
Don't change the charger! It’s simple: your battery and charger were specially designed AND tested to work together by the manufacturer. Switching chargers could result in your battery being charged too fast, which might then heat up your battery and cause major damage. If you lost your charger or need a new one, make sure to contact your e-bikes original manufacturer for a replacement.
